Seasoning Preparation for: (stews, casseroles, braising, soups, pasta etc).



  • Prepare 2lbs (1kg) of meat or meat free options (see below) -
  • Mix the following ingredients in a bowl.
  • 1 ½ Level dessertspoons - Gramma's Herbal Seasoning.
  • 200ml (7fl.oz) - Water
  • 1 - 2 dessertspoons - Tomato (tinned or pureed)
  • 1 dessertspoon - Cider Vinegar or lemon Juice
  • 1 - Stock Cube, (i.e. vegetable, chicken) and dissolve in a little boiling water.
  • ½ - 1 teaspoon - Celtic Sea Salt, to taste, (optional).
  • ½ - 1 teaspoon.- Gramma's Herbal Pepper Sauce.
  • Mix well and cook as follows -

  • Pour the seasoning mixture into a cooking pot, bring to the boil, reduce heat, cover with lid and allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Add the meat, vegetables or pasta, mix well and then bring back to the boil. Reduce heat to a gentle simmer, cover and cook until tender, stirring occasionally.

    MEAT FREE OPTIONS (i.e. soya, tofu, beans, lentils or vegetables etc).


    VARIATIONS:

    Create a variety of new exciting tastes by simply adding a little of any of these ingredients to the seasoning mixture.

  • FOR EXTRA FLAVOUR: ADD THE FOLLOWING...
  • 2-4, - Fresh Garlic Cloves, (finely grated for pureed).
    ½ - 1oz - Fresh Ginger, (finely grated or pureed)
    1 small - Onion, (finely chopped)
    1-2 dessertspoons, Light Soya Sauce (omit Sea Salt)
    1-2 tablespoons - Olive Oil, (optional).

    • ORIENTAL FLAVOUR.
    • We recommend using Gramma's 'Hot & Spicy' Seasoning.
      1-2 -tablespoons or ½ of each - Light Soy or Oyster Sauce, (omit Salt).
      2-4 -tablespoons - Rice Wine or Dry Sherry
      ½ - -1 dessertspoon - Honey or Sugar
      1-2 -teaspoons - Sesame Oil, (optional)
      ½-1 - Spring Onion, bunch (finely chopped).


      • CARIBBEAN FLAVOUR.
      • We recommend using Gramma's 'Creole' or 'Hot & Spicy' Seasoning.
        1-2oz. - Coconut Cream


        • THAI FLAVOUR
        • We recommend using Gramma's 'Original' Seasoning.
          1-2 tablespoons - Light Soy Sauce, (omit Salt)
          Replace half the water with Coconut Milk.


          • CURRY FLAVOUR
          • We recommend using Gramma's 'Curry' Seasoning.
            2-4 tablespoons of Low Fat Natural Yogurt or replace half the water with Coconut Milk.


            • DISHES FOR LARGE FAMILIES.
            • Add half more water, then 5 minutes before the end of cooking add;-
              2-4 teaspoons - Cornstarch OR Arrowroot Powder,
              Mix with a little cold water and stir in to thicken the gravy.
